The new "wreck" arrives on site. All mechanical parts
have been removed along with the windows, seats and trim. En route
to the Blue Lagoon the bus shell was pressure washed and the engine bay
steam cleaned to prevent pollution.

The spectators gaze on as the shell is prepared. Behind the
onlookers are the plastic fifty gallon drums which will be used to float the
bus out to it's intended site.
|
The bus is lifted off the lorry and into the water. It was known
in advance that the crane would not be long enough to place the bus in
water deep enough to float so...
|
 |
 |
...a JCB was used to give a shove. Once the water was deep enough,
the bus floated. It was then towed (by fin power!) to its final
resting place. Lastly, the air was let out of the barrels and the
bus sank to the lake bed.

The bus in its final resting place at 12 metres.
