Stoney Cove

Although the Blue Lagoon is adequate for most of our training, there are times when we need a little more depth or some bigger wrecks to train on.  We are fortunate to have Stoney Cove just under an hour up the A5.

One of the newer wrecks to explore is the Stanegarth, an old British Waterways tug.

Most of you know what Stoney looks like.  For those that don't this is the lower access point to the water.

The only problem with Stoney is that it can get very crowded, especially at weekends.  We try and dive midweek which is much quieter.  Pictured is the car park at 9:00 on a weekday....and at 9:00 on a bank holiday weekend.  On the right is the new school and shop complex under construction at the cove.
