Farne Islands In September we trailed the club boat up to Seahouses to dive the Farne Islands. Despite the rather blustery weather, we did manage a few dives, some divers were lucky enough to see seals.
Boat Handling MKSAC held a (Non BSAC) boat handling course in August last year. Although with no formal qualification, the course gave five Club members experience in handling the Club boat as well as an introduction to chartwork etc. More details can be found here.
As usual, May saw a trip to Weymouth to give our newly qualified Club Divers their first taste of diving in the sea. Our trip co-incided with a parade of military vehicles commemorating the D-Day landings. A Coastguard helicopter also showed how to land a winchman on a boat and pick him up again. One of the more unusual experiences in 2000 was a "have-a-go" on a Rebreather in March.
